Katerina Ivanovna's eldest little girl, one of the hungry children in the Marmeladov household. She is young enough to be frightened and old enough to be sent on errands, which makes her one of the household's quiet burdens. Through her, family misery becomes visible in a child's obedience.

She runs to fetch Sonia as Marmeladov is dying and receives Raskolnikov's urgent tenderness afterward.
