Also known as accomplishments, an accomplished woman.
The set of genteel skills by which a young woman's worth in society is reckoned: music, singing, drawing, dancing, needlework, and a fashionable polish of manner. At Netherfield the company debates what a truly accomplished woman must be, Mr. Darcy adding to the usual list the improvement of her mind by extensive reading, while Caroline Bingley parades her own pretensions to the character. It is one of the chief currencies a portionless girl can bring to the marriage market.
