Alyosha's Testimony

Also known as Alyosha's evidence, Alyosha's cross-examination.

Alyosha is called among the defense witnesses after the medical experts. His reputation for goodness gives his evidence a special weight, and the court expects him to speak gently but seriously about his brother. At this point his evidence is introduced as something that may help answer one important point in the prosecution's case.

XII-IV. Fortune Smiles On Mitya

Alyosha testifies that Dmitri had spoken of hatred and possible violence toward his father, yet insists that Dmitri is not the murderer.
