Samsonov's House Also known as Kuzma Kuzmitch's, Samsonov's, the house of Samsonov.
Samsonov's house is the place Grushenka names when she tells Dmitri she must spend the evening helping Kuzma Kuzmitch with accounts. In chapter 44, the address works as a cover story: Dmitri believes she is safely there, while she has already slipped back home to wait for news from Mokroe. The house carries Samsonov's authority over Grushenka's past even before its rooms are shown.

Dmitri visits the house to ask Kuzma Samsonov for money and is received in the enormous upper drawing-room, where the old merchant coldly toys with his desperation.
VIII-III. Gold-Mines
Grushenka briefly goes to the gate with Dmitri so the deception will look true, then leaves almost at once and returns to her own lodging.
