Volovya Station Also known as Volovya.
Volovya Station is the point where the road toward Tchermashnya branches from the route to the railway. Fyodor Pavlovitch urges Ivan to turn off there and settle the timber business. Ivan reaches Volovya, orders horses for the detour, then changes his mind and goes on toward Moscow.
VIII-I. Kuzma Samsonov
The same station becomes part of Dmitri's desperate route when Samsonov directs him toward the supposed timber buyer.
VIII-II. Lyagavy
After the failed errand to Lyagavy, Dmitri gets back to Volovya and orders horses for town, still trying to settle the question of money before evening.
VIII-III. Gold-Mines
Volovya remains the route by which Ivan's departure is reconstructed, keeping his movement away from Tchermashnya in view.
