Alyosha's Speech at the Stone

Also known as The Speech At The Stone, I should like to say one word to you, Let us make a compact here.

Alyosha's speech at the stone follows Ilusha's funeral, when the boys stop by the large stone tied to Ilusha's memory. Alyosha asks them to make a compact never to forget Ilusha or one another, because one good childhood memory can help preserve a person through life. The boys answer with tears, cheers, and a shared hope that they will rise again and see Ilusha once more.
